I chose the DATBOSS MIX LR antenna after watching uTube Videos on Tyler the Antenna Man because my TABLO for over a year has been having major reception/buffering problems and each time TABLO support kept saying it was my antenna.
I started assembling the DATBOSS MIX LR on 17 May 2025 in my garage and 2 days later I installed it on my 15-foot mast on my roof top pointing it to market #2 at 296 degrees. (Image 1)
My Previous Antenna Setup: Bowtie and Yagi antenna then I bought a 2nd Yagi. The TABLO had massive buffering/reception issues and again Tablo Support said it was my antenna. I contacted Tyler the Antenna Man for a consultation after seeing his uTube video and bought the Televes DATBOSS MIX LR antenna from Menards.
My first step: taking the parts out of the box in the garage to start setting up the DATBOSS MIX LR antenna. A couple of good things about putting the DATBOSS MIX LR antenna together is Televes provides a great instruction video along with a 10-millimeter wrench included in the box, which made setup very easy while watching the Video. Dat Boss MIX LR antenna install on 15-foot Mast: Installed/pointed antenna to WKBT Ch#8, VHF-HI at 296 degrees; pict #2, my ground cable on the mast to the lightning suppressor and pict #3, excess coax cable I’ll have to trim/cut off after I receive my KOTTO Coax Cable Crimper Kit from Amazon. On day 3 although I was receiving WKBT –VHF- Hi and all UHF channels, I lost the (7) sub-channels on NBC-UHF, Ch#13, WEAU, (Me TV, COZI, Movies, Ion Plus, H&I, Start TV, and the CW), for unknown reason, the Dat Boss stopped picking them up. I contacted Andy Ruffin of Televes and inquired about the channel's loss, and he advised to lower the element on the Dat Boss antenna from 30 degrees down and make it level. I also contacted Tyler the Antenna Man for a consultation, and he sent me a new recommendation on the website Rabbitears for WEAU which has a repeater channel, W34FC-D, also at 255 degrees. On 4 May 25 after the trees were cut down, I repositioned the DATBOSS from 296 degrees to 255 degrees, and using the signal meter on my TV.
Five trees cut down clearing the obstruction. Problem resolved: Dat Boss antenna repositioned to 255.02 degrees; using the TV signal meter locked it in slowly to signal Max strength of 96. Channel search went from 24 to 69 channels. The Dat Boss is working EXCELLENT. (Image 6)
Conclusion: The Televes DATBOSS MIX LR antenna is a great antenna and is picking up three out of market TV station from Minesota in my area. Most of all the signal for the TABLO has stabilized and resolved the buffering issue. I would highly recommend the TELEVES DATBOSS MIX LR antenna. (Image 7)
